Written by Steve Hansen | Mar 14, 2022

As demand for data-driven insights and analytics continues to grow, we have expanded our analytics team so that we can continue to provide top notch service to our clients. This month, we are pleased to welcome John Schumacher, PhD to our team as Data Analytics Consultant.

John's quantitative and qualitative work experience as a Research Assistant and Lead Statistical Consultant at Texas Tech University makes him a skillful and valuable addition to the team. He brings to Phase 5 his deep knowledge of a wide array of inferential statistical modeling techniques to address and answer critical human behavioral research questions. He has also been a graduate level instructor of modeling and analytical techniques, published numerous research papers, and been honored with several awards for excellence in his field.

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, John earned a BS degree in Psychology from Colorado State University, obtained a PhD in Experimental Psychology from Texas Tech University, and completed a postdoctoral research appointment with the University of Minnesota’s HumanFIRST Research Lab. Affiliated with the Road Safety Institute, the "Human Factors Interdisciplinary Research in Safety and Transportation" Lab employs the tools and methods of psychology and human factors engineering to improve our scientific understanding of driver performance and cognitive functions, and ultimately applies its findings to help reduce the rate of fatal crashes.

Fun fact: John is also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Phase 5 is proud to welcome John to our Minnesota-based team.
