Contract Research Analyst, Innovation at Phase 5 

Salary Range - $55,000 - $70,000

Phase 5 Consulting Group is a research-focused consulting firm serving blue chip clients in North America and Europe.

  • Building better experiences for their customers, through web / mobile interfaces or through the broader customer experience.

We are looking for a Research Analyst to join our team on a one-year contract in our downtown Toronto office. Please note that we currently have an established hybrid work model and you will be required to work from our offices 1-3 days a week.

As a core part of our Innovation team, we are looking for an outstanding individual who:

  • Has a strong grasp of quantitative primary marketing research methodologies;
  • Is highly comfortable working with data in SPSS;
  • Will support project management, including day-to-day logistics, communication and team collaboration;
  • Seeks to understand our clients’ overarching business questions driving the research;
  • Relishes telling stories with data and analysis to help clients make key decisions on their business and strategic objectives.

What You Will Do

In the role of Research Analyst, you will spend the bulk of your time on custom, ad hoc primary marketing research projects. Working closely with seasoned Phase 5 researchers, you will:

  • Work on project teams that include clients and other Phase 5ers to understand our clients’ business needs.
  • Design research instruments that help our clients get the insights they need to make decisions.
  • Program and field quantitative surveys.
  • Analyze data using descriptive and multivariate techniques.
  • Contribute to reports and presentations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate and/or post-graduate degree(s) in Business, Statistics, Psychology, Sociology or a similar discipline
  • 1-3 years’ experience at a market research consultant or agency firm
  • Strong and demonstrable skills in data manipulation and statistical data analysis using SPSS
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to juggle several different projects simultaneously.
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Good writing skills
  • Experience / proficiency with Qualtrics
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity or experience in financial services and B2B industries
  • Boundless curiosity and enthusiasm
  • Experience with Python, Access, Sawtooth
